IRIZAR MEXICO

IRIZAR MEXICO, S.A. DE C. V. is established with 100% IRIZAR GROUP capital, and follows their international growth strategy and technology transfer politics. The initial investment for this project sums 20 million USD, with an installed anual capacity of 500 luxury coaches and planning its growth to 1000.

IRIZAR MEXICO has 60,000 sq. mts. of land located within the Industrial Park Bernardo Quintana, Querétaro. From which 7,000 sq. mts. were habilitated to start operations November the 3th 1999. Today they are more than 10,000 sq. mts

The luxury coach lines CENTURY and INTERCENTURY are currently manufactured at this facility. They are considered among the most successful brands in the long and mid distance autocar sector, respectively, in Europe, being mainly used for regular lines and tourism.

The IRIZAR coach bodies concept its characterized for its adaptability to all chassises market brands, such as mercedez benz, Scania, volvo, MCI and others.

During the first production phase the plant of Queretaro covers the mexican demand, having the objective to cover 30% of this segment. Later on it will become the platform to export to US and Canada, taking advantage of the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement)

IRIZAR MEXICO INVESTMENTS

The investments made in IRIZAR MEXICO have kept the same philosophy developed in the matrix plant IRIZAR ORMAIZTEGUI, ESPAÑA.

The facilities, buildings, tooling, machinery, are identical as the ones used in IRIZAR ORMAIZTEGUI.

Besides the material investment, we have invested in education-formation.

To start the activities 75 people were went to the matrix plant for training with a three month average staying.

The reason for this training was not only for manufacturing skills but also the learning of the IRIZAR management.

IRIZAR MEXICO AND THE SUPPLIERS.

The IRIZAR MEXICO strategy is to purchase as much as possible in México.

For which we take into consideration different key attributes such as quality, service, cost and innovation, which once completed, make the mexican suppliers candidates to become global IRIZAR GROUP suppliers.

It is considered for this year that several current suppliers for IRIZAR Mexico become suppliers for IRIZAR Group for its five productive plants.

It is expected to sell 410 units for this year invoicing 45 million USD.

IRIZAR MEXICO long term project is reinforced by the free trade agreement with Europe, which will allow us to be more competitive and agil, therefore we could improve our possibilities to grow in the domestic market as well as the exportation to USA and Canada to help the development of wealth and employment.
